you should do a cash mob in Suffern, NY
Karen –
We’re a bit far away – why don’t you take up the banner, though? http://cashmobs.wordpress.com/want-to-cash-mob/ !
Andrew
Anyone wanting to form a cash mob in Valley, Alabama, let me know!
Patti –
Get it going – you might be the first down there!!! http://cashmobs.wordpress.com/want-to-cash-mob/ !
Andrew
Yes, I like the idea of cash mobs! In fact, I would hope that shoppers would buy what they would otherwise would intend to buy at the large box stores. Americans do not realize what we are doing to ourselves by shopping at these places that mostly sell imported products and employ a lot of people but only at part time to not have to pay or provide them with benefits. I could go on and on!
Jeff –
Please do – we love getting these perspectives!
Andrew
How about Scio, Oregon? We just got a new Wally World in nearby Albany. Place is packed. Locals ~ don’t say you were not warned by the effects of approving this project!
We would like to have one in Cut Off,Louisiana and the surrounding areas,Things have been rough since the oil spill….They need help also..
Oh man, Christine – I love this idea. Start tonight – get @cmCutOff at http://www.twitter.com and set it up!
From Louisiana too, would love to participate
We have them in Flagstaff, AZ!
What is your Twitter or Facebook page?
any where closer to Rockford, il? please come
Get it going, Liz!
I would love to do a cash mob in Jacksonville Alabama. Anyone near Jacksonville contact me and lets organize one. I am originallly from New York and have been living here for some 15 years. We sure do love us some Jacksonville.
Joy – and…go!
[...] Near You! [...]
i love your idea How about one here in Winchester Kentucky?
Judy –
I read this and imagined a soft, sweet Kentucky accent. Start by getting the Twitter handle @cmwinchester!
Andrew
This is really cool. There was one here in Grand Rapids, Mi this past holiday season. I’m very excited to see folks getting behind local businesses in this day and age. Power to the people!
AMEN
Would be awesome to have one near me. I’m in Montgomery, TX. I saw the one for Houston but they’re concentrating on inner Houston which is about 2 hrs drive from me on a good day
Mary –
I want to see YOU organize one. You can make the difference!
Andrew
Hi! I see where in the rules it says you must spend $20. Does that still apply if it’s a little diner you want to help save? Actually, $5 per person would be a lot for this place. lol!
Talk to Cyndy Salins – she’s the mob organizer!
Anyone want to start a cash mob in the central Maine area? I like the idea of purchasing products from the small stores in the community. I also prefer to buy american made products whenever possible because when we do we are helping to keep another fellow American working
Sarah –
I’ve wanted to go to Maine for eleven years, no joke. When you start one let me know and I’ll try to make it!
Andrew
I’m a very senior, senior citizen and have never been good at organizing or leading any kind of movement, but I am a good follower if it’s a good cause, and this truly is a good cause. That being said, I hope that someone in Jacksonville, Florida will start such a movement! I’m all for it!
JD –
The greatest leaders in history have first been good followers, and it sounds like you have a lot of experience working for you. I would strongly urge you to consider organizing one of these. Plenty of people have gone before you; we’d love to have you on board!
Andrew
Thanks, Mr Samtoy. I’m a good follower, not even a mediocre leader or organizer.
JD… I would love to help you set this up. Get back with me at UIUC_1978@yahoo.com so we can get this set up.
What a beautiful conversation. I bet you are a WONDERFUL leader and organizer. You’re typing on a computer, aren’t you? The beauty of social media, is that you’re already there! Steven, YOU just inspired me to start a Cash Mob in Wapakoneta, Ohio. You too, Mr. Samtoy. My heart is pounding right now. Thank you!
Thanks Melanie! When you have your Twitter/Facebook set up, let me know and we’ll add you to the list!
I agree that $20 is too much for a place like a diner. Or maybe even a $dollar store. Let people spend what they can, as long as they spend.
above
IS THERE ONE IN CONNECTICUT, LIKE BRIDGEPORT OR MILFORD OR TRUMBULL???
Not that I know of right now; would you like to stake out a claim?
Alright! If anyone is in Milwaukee, WI, let’s get together! I’ll see about starting one!
Has anyone started a CM in New Orleans?
Not that I know of – I think that’s all you!
Andrew

Loveland Cash Mob – our first event is this Saturday and I’m so excited. Thanks, Andrew for all the info and encouragement you have on your website.
Folks, don’t be afraid to start one in your community! I just started our local mob on FaceBook about 2 weeks ago and we have over 75 members so far.
I’d love to see this idea spread to every city and town in America!
Check this out. Some people bought the whole store!
http://www.storebuyout.com/
Rhode Island has had two so far. The first was organized by Laura Winward – who posted earlier about how she organized it. The second was in central RI and the store that was mobbed was mine – Anything Goes. There are two more scheduled – March 1 and March 2 – with others being talked about or in the planning stages. As both a mobber and a mobbee I can say that it has been a remarkable experience. The most exciting piece has been the buzz after the first two. People are really taking notice – and more and more are wanting to participate!
Excited to be starting this in Downtown Blacksburg, Virginia! Just created the new twitter feed- cmdtblacksburg and even put a countdown clock on our website: http://www.downtownblacksburg.com

I noticed you do not have the cash mob listed that we had in Lompoc, CA. It was an absolute success. 2 weeks later, still the buzz of the town. I was the business mobbed. The first in our
community. I was very pleased to be apart of this Fabulous
Event. We had sooooooo much fun!!!!!
Do you have the Twitter handle or Facebook page?

Andrew -
First off — THANK YOU for all you are doing to support this movement. This site is a wonderful resource for those of us who are scratching our heads a bit with the enormity, speed, and power of this movement!
Thank you for listing our second Charlottesville, VA cashmob – I commented earlier tonight under the ‘advice’ post about my unfortunate encounter with the twitter police. *sigh* I believe I’ll get it resolved and get our twitter account re-instated…hopefully soon!…. but could I ask you to maybe link to our fb page instead, since so far, Mr. Zuckerburg hasn’t pulled the plug.

Here is an update on my progress. Yesterday I signed up to be a Chamber of Commerce member in Bartlesville, had a logo and business cards made. Today I talked with a location suggest by the lady at the Chamber and they said YESSSS and was very excited about it!
The first Cash Mobs will be on March 24th (National Cash Mobs Day)!!! All I have to do now is contact radio, media and newspapers and find out how much it will cost to advertise a week in advance.
Tonight I will be attending a “Meet and Greet” of Chamber Members. I will be handing them a business card along with a short version of what Cash Mobs is all about.
Next week I will talk with someone in Dewey to include them also.

Fantastic job! This is great networking and great initiative.
Most of the papers will advertise for free, just ask them its a Grass roots effort to get ours for free we are “mobbing ” the paper on the Weekend of Memorial Day they are offering a Mobbing special to get their subscriptions up. Typically its 18 dollars to get a year of the paper that Saturday its 15 which is what we set our Mob rate at, due to our depressed economy. None the less it has been successful. Enjoy the week and good luck Christy at http://www.facebook.com/groups/cashmobhighland

At just over 24 hours old, our group had 50 likes. Our first mob is this Thursday. We have had radio coverage and the paper has arranged to cover the event. Am I bragging? You bet I am. I love our little town.
Most Papers will do this for free, maybe not a “ad” but the articles which bring them readers etc. I am in Hillsboro Both papers and all the radio stations have picked up on this. Thought you should know just ask. Also ask business members who have been mobbed to make a statement on your facebook page to thank the community it will continue to bring in people to the businesses. Congrats on your new mob. We started ours a month ago every week we mob a business and its turning out to be a FUN time. Enjoy the week
I just went to Tulsa, Ok today and visited the 4 local TV stations and left a typed brief and my card. I invited them to come to the first event for Bartlesville/Dewey. I also invited some of the radio stations in Tulsa and the one in Bartlesville. The event is already of the TV, Newspaper and Radio Community Calendars online. I am really curious on how many people are going to be there.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ann Arbor Cash Mob Crawl in The Village of Dexter for Tornado Relief
March 26, 2012
Contact: Paul Hickman, 734.657.5586 or paul@urbanashes.com
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – In the wake of the March 15, 2012 tornado that touched down in the Dexter area and caused considerable damage, a Tornado Relief Cash Mob Crawl has been organized by the Ann Arbor Cash Mob to support the Dexter business community on Saturday, March 31.
The entire business community of Dexter has come out in full force to help those in need in the tornado’s aftermath. There has been a great outpouring of financial and volunteer support for the cleanup. What’s been missed in this outpouring is DIRECT support to these very businesses that have been giving so much to residents of the Dexter area. It’s time for the rest of Washtenaw County and the state of Michigan, to do their parts.
Participants are encouraged to meet at the Monument Park gazebo in downtown Dexter at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31. From there the Cash Mob as a group will visit as many of the downtown Dexter businesses as possible to show support for their rebuilding of the devastated area. No single business will be singled out – all the businesses have pitched in and should be supported.
Modeled after the “flash mob” concept, Cash Mobs have taken off nationally with the aim of supporting locally owned businesses and creating a grassroots network of engaged citizens. The Ann Arbor Cash Mob was formed in early 2012 and has “mobbed” several local businesses in the past three months, including Acme Mercantile, Morgan & York, Encore Records and more. The Ann Arbor Cash Mob has no affiliation with these businesses and anyone can join in – the idea is to bolster the local economy and have a little fun while doing it!
The Ann Arbor Cash Mob (on Facebook and Twitter at @AnnArborCashMob) is organizing the Tornado Relief Dexter Cash Mob Crawl at the request of residents and others interested in helping out the community in a concrete way. So let’s see a real mob in Dexter on Saturday!
For more information or to help coordinate this effort, contact Paul Hickman at 734.657.5586 or at paul@urbanashes.com.

The First Cash Mobs event was really small but I have been and will be spending the month of April doing nothing but Networking. I have 3 confirmations already for the big venue events in Bartlesville, Ok (Sunfest, OK Mozart and Farmer’s Market) during this year. The first one will be on May 5th. It is the opening of the Farmer’s Market. They are really excited to be a part of this event.
I will let you know how it goes. As for the networking, it is going very well. I have had several interested people. I am looking forward to the next event to see how many come out just to see what a Cash Mobs is all about.
Have a wonderful day! Stay safe and God Bless!

Founded March 14th 2013, Holliston’s inaugural Cash Mob is this coming Sat (March 20th).
https://www.facebook.com/events/440799222665886/
@CMHolliston
We’ve had some local press coverage (see links at https://www.facebook.com/HollistonCashMobs), and press/media will be at the event.
The target store has devised offers to encourage return visitors: In addition to the draw for a $25 gift certificate announced previously, other special offers for mobbers will be announced at the meet-up.
That should be Sat 30th for the inaugural Cash Mob! (Can’t find an edit option)
Thanks!
We had a very successful Mob, with the target store receiving ten-fold traffic that day, and increasing its future customer base; there were a few mobbers who had not previously been aware of the store and definitely plan on shopping there regularly.
I have since started a YouTube channel to post marketing collateral footage such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oA1BxlvckI
Interviews will be posted there later this week. Links to other news reports are available through the FB page: https://www.facebook.com/HollistonCashMobs. Please come and explore!
In addition to offers that would draw mobbers back for return visits, the target store gave 5% of the day’s takings back to the community through a donation to the Community Action Fund.
I have been asked to present to the Holliston Business Association this week about the Cash Mob concept.
Fantastic work!!!
